The main goal of the Federation of Women's Associations of Turkey, founded in 1976, is to work for the material and spiritual development of society through the development of women and to provide cooperation and solidarity in this regard. And for 43 years, it has been working with this basic purpose.
The Federation of Women's Associations of Turkey, which has 10 independent women's organizations, has a wide network locally, nationally and internationally with 180 branches in Turkey and 9 representations abroad and 7 at national level. Feminist activism works to implement and secure gender equality by using a variety of methods such as advocacy, research, data collection and information generation, reporting, education, monitoring and networking. The Federation of Women's Associations of Turkey defines the violence suffered by women, girls and LGBTQI individuals as a fundamental violation of human rights and discrimination and continues its work from a rights-based perspective.
In addition to the branches of our Federation's member associations spread throughout the country, there are also representatives of the United States, Greece, Japan, Canada, Azerbaijan, Germany, England, France, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Northern Iraq and Ukraine.
At the national level, our representatives work in the Aegean, Marmara, Mediterranean, Southeast Anatolia, Black Sea and Thrace Region, as well as in the provinces and districts such as Diyarbakir, Izmir, Antalya, Ayvalik Balikesir, which we care very much about.
